Teach Me
By: Nia Caldwell
(A poem to a trusted adult)
Teach me all there is to know
Trust me when I say I know what I'm doing
My head isn't clouded
It as clear as it has ever been
With my life moving forward
As fast as the sunshine's beams
Teach me all there is to know
About life
About what makes us human beings
No, it won't go to rot
Knowledge stays and never goes
Teach me how to have control over my own body
So that I may prosper in my sexuality
So that I never have to fill the pit of the unknown on my own
Teach me all there is to know
So that I am safe
Never put in a situation of constant worry
The time is special, I do agree
But what happens when you don't agree with me
I have no knowledge so I seek my own
But I rather learn from you
Teach me all there is to know
